The White Ribbon program sends Henry Mayo nurses into the juvenile court system. There they show young people the risks of driving while tired or under the influence, and provide safety precautions.
Local sheriff deputies add a unique dimension to the program by distributing white ribbons to high school seniors during graduation week. Teens wear the ribbons in memory of classmates who lost their lives on the highway.
Since 1998, this unique program, funded by a host of corporate sponsors, has helped to both educate and raise awareness of the danger while driving tired or impaired.
White Ribbon Week and the Drive Safe Program are sponsored by Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Frontier Toyota, Safe Rides, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department/Santa Clarita, City of Santa Clarita, and The Signal. By wearing white ribbons, these sponsors hope you will remember to drive safely.
