Caring For Our Tiniest Patients With Your Help

It’s been almost 36 years since Laura Basler, Henry Mayo Hospital’s first baby, was born on August 8, 1975. Now, many of our first deliveries are becoming parents and, as their parents once did, they’re choosing Henry Mayo for their baby’s birth—close to family and friends in their own hometown.

As our community grows, so does the demand for maternity services and the need for critical care for newborns. In response to that need, Henry Mayo began construction of the Santa Clarita Valley’s only neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in December 2010.

The completion of the 11-bed, $6 million state-of-the-art NICU is slated for the end of this year.

Thanks to the generous support of our caring community, construction and technology for the NICU is being accomplished, with several rooms already named for donors.

Additional naming opportunities are still available for life-saving equipment, such as state-of-the-art monitoring systems, incubators, and ventilators, as well as individual patient rooms.

Henry Mayo’s NICU will offer a warm and nurturing environment designed to care for our tiny and frail infants’ developmental growth and also allow for parent and child bonding…….critical in reducing stress on the infant and family.
